Carolina Family Farm

Coleridge Butter Barn, our registered Jersey butter machine and I would like to invite you to take a tour of Carolina Family Farm.

My name is Hayne and I'm a third generation substance farmer. I currently have several different interest that include Beef and dairy cattle, Boar goats, Grafting apple trees, an ever growing vegetable farm and honey bees

It's Feeding Time for the bees, a fairly warm January day has them out searching for something sweet, we feed them a mixture of sugar and water to help things along in early spring.

Sometimes I use old chick water containers to feed the bees.

I recently took up the art of hand grafting queens, this is a chart I use to help me keep track of important dates during the process. This is fun, most anyone can learn how to hand graft and produce there own queens. We've had a very warm winter here in the Carolina's but old man winter sent a reminder a few days ago that the bees would still have to wait a while. A few years ago we started raising Boar goats, Boar goats are a meat type goat and a lot of fun to raise.
Here are a few new 2007 kids.

Goats love to climb on anything, even mom!
